  • Jens Witkowski is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Machine Learning at ETH Zurich, where he works with Andreas Krause. His research focuses on the intersection of data science and economics, with an emphasis on eliciting, aggregating, and evaluating crowd-sourced information. Jens has worked extensively on theoretical and empirical approaches to peer prediction and probabilistic forecasting. From August 2014 to June 2015, he was a postdoc in the Good Judgment Project at the University of Pennsylvania, developing methods for the early identification of so-called “superforecasters.” From 2010–2014, Jens was a Fellow of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University, where he worked on robust peer prediction mechanisms with David C. Parkes. He received his Ph.D. (2014) and Master’s (2009) degrees in Computer Science from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, Germany.
